What happens when two veteran sitcom stars team-up? The question can be answered by Shifting Gears starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings. The sophomore season of the smash hit sitcom is heading your way on ABC this fall. So when can you expect to see the release date for Shifting Gears season 2?
The Shifting Gears season 2 release date is Wednesday, October 1 at 8:00 Eastern/Pacific on ABC. New episodes of the series will continue to air in that time slot on a weekly basis. And if you'd prefer to stream your sitcoms, the new episodes will be available on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ the following day. It's been a little while since the previous season concluded in March 2025. That's just one of the scintillating TV release dates coming up this fall. Currently, there isn't a trailer for Shifting Gears season 2.
Shifting Gears stars Allen as Matt Parker, a widower who runs an auto restoration shop. The sitcom setup: he reluctantly takes in his estranged daughter Riley (Dennings) and her two children, Carter (Maxwell Simkins) and Georgia (Barrett Margolis ). Rounding out the main cast are Gabriel (Seann William Scott) and Stitch (Daryl "Chill" Mitchell). And the show boasts some exciting recurring characters, like Riley's boss Eve Drake (Jenna Elfman), and impressive guest stars, like Caitlyn Baker (Brenda Song).
Shifting Gears season 1 debuts on ABC on October 1.
