Audiences won’t have to wait years for the next season of Netflix’s blockbuster hit Squid Game — although season 2 took three years to arrive after the surprise success of the first season, it turns out that a date has already been announced for the third and final season of the show… and it’s arriving this summer.
That’s right; Netflix has announced that Squid Game season 3 will debut June 27, 2025.
The third season was filmed back-to-back with the second, which makes that cliffhanger end to the second season a little bit more bearable, knowing it’ll have a speedy resolution. We already knew that the third season was coming in 2025, and that it was intended to be the end of the series… although that might be in doubt given the success of the second season, which was the biggest premiere of any streaming service in all of 2024.
The show’s success continues; as of this week, Squid Game season 2 was the second-most-watched non-English language TV show with 1.2 billion hours viewed since launch December 26. (Squid Game season 1 retains the top spot, of course.)
There’s even a teaser poster for the new season, which looks a little something like this... and that's not a good sign for Player 214...

Squid Game returns for its third and final season June 27.
