Netflix snuck into a Stranger Things season 5 episode and removed a futuristic blunder on the night before the finale

Eagle-eyed Stranger Things fans will no longer be noticing any anachronisms in Holly Wheeler's season 5 costume - which is great, because those eagle eyes will be full of eagle tears soon enough

I'm writing this missive in the afternoon of December 31, 2025, mere hours before Stranger Things season 5 debuts its finale episode, ending the near decade-long story of Hawkins, IN for good (sort of). I imagine that, even as I type these words, dedicated Upside Downers are rewatching the lead-up to the show's final moments - and if so, they're going to have an experience that's just slightly different than their first time viewing it.

You see, Netflix just fixed an on-camera error from Stranger Things season 5 episode 7, The Bridge.

The story comes from E! News, who revealed that the error in question has something to do with the cast's wardrobe. Without getting into spoilers here (you're welcome), certain viewers of the megahit scifi thriller noticed that the character Holly Wheeler (played by newcomer Nell Fisher) was sporting clothes with Under Armour branding in one scene. Stranger Things season 5 takes place in the year 1987, and athletic wear brand Under Armour wasn't even founded until 1996.

Now, however, eagle-eyed viewers who come back to episode 7 of season 5 will no longer have to suffer the ignominy of this historic anachronism, as the Under Armour logo is no longer visible in the scene in question. They will, you understand, still have to accept a world where kids have government superpowers and aliens are allergic to Kate Bush, but hey, I guess that part has been easier to swallow.

All three volumns of Stranger Things season 5 are on Netflix now.
