We can’t imagine what it is like being on the set of Stranger Things season five; the busy schedule, the casually running into Linda Hamilton at the snack table, the looming fear that this might be the last time you see these people who have been part of your life for nearly a decade. However, one Stranger Things star likens being on the season five set to the best part about high school – leaving it.
Apparently, filming the final season of Stranger Things is a lot like being a senior in high school for Finn Wolfhard, who has played Mike Wheeler on the Netflix hit since the first season. When describing the “senioritis” that he has on set at the moment, Wolfhard explained that he is, "really trying to be present with the character. I’ve just been very deliberate in the way that I treat coming onto set, just having as good of a time as we can since we know it’s the last season.”
It isn’t that different from how other cast members have described being in Hawkins for the final time. Every time the young cast of Stranger Things discusses the show, the fact that they are such good friends comes up at least once. Once filming wraps and season five comes out, they might never get to spend so much time together again; just like when you’re leaving high school. So, we don’t blame Wolfhard for savoring the feeling of being surrounded by his friends – even if they have to do it while surrounded by the Upside Down.
