The highly-anticipated return of cult franchise The LIbrarians with new series The Librarians: The Next Chapter has been put back on the shelf, with no word on if we'll never be able to check it out
Weeks after announcing that The Librarians: The Next Chapter would debut October 24, The CW has mothballed the series with the documentary series The Wranglers taking its place on the schedule. No word has been given on why the sudden change, or if this is merely a delay as opposed to a straight-up cancelation.
The Librarians: The Next Chapter was announced as a sequel series to the hit TNT series The Librarians starring Noah Wyle, the late Bob Newhart, and Jane Curtin. That series was a spinoff of three successful TV films in the Librarians franchise.
The Librarians: The Next Chapter follows a time-traveling Librarian (Callum McGowan) who comes from the past but is now stuck in modern times. Now it seems like the show itself may be stuck in time.
