The Rookie season 9 release date is confirmed for January 2027, however, a specific The Rookie season 9 release date has yet to be pinned down by ABC or Hulu.

The Rookie season 10 has not yet been confirmed by ABC or Hulu. However, The Rookie season 9 was confirmed in April of 2026 and The Rookie season 8 was confirmed in April of 2025, so it is possible that ABC will confirm The Rookie season 10 in April of 2027.

This is a misconception. Melissa O'Neil, who has portrayed the character of Lucy Chen ever since The Rookie 2018, has not left he series, and will appear in The Rookie season 9.

No. The Rookie's Angela Lopez  and Wesley Evers, portrayed by Alyssa Diaz and Shawn Ashmore, respectively, are not married in real life. Their characters, however, have been married since The Rookie season 3.

The Rookie season 9 FAQ #6: Why was The Rookie spin-off cancelled?

The Rookie's spin-off, The Rookie: Feds, was cancelled by ABC after 1 season in 2023. The Rookie's creator, Alexi Hawley, said the cancellation was due to several factors including "the consolidation of the industry, the economic impact of the streaming wars have had on different companies" per Deadline.

However, The Rookie is getting a new spin-off very soon, set in Washington State. The Rookie: North's release date has not officially been confirmed by ABC or Hulu, but it is slated for 2027.
