Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft release date: when Hayley Atwell's animated Netflix series' first season drops

Tomb Raider fans, start your engines, Netflix's Lara Croft animated series is almost here.

The world could always use some more Lara Croft. Thankfully, an animated series for adults called Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is coming to Netflix this month. After a sequel to the 2018 Tomb Raider film starring Alicia Vikander was canceled, it's good to see that there are more projects in the world of Tomb Raider on the horizon.

While a sequel to the 2018 Tomb Raider film was in limbo for years, this isn't the case for The Legend of Lara Croft. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will arrive on Netflix on October 10, 2024. It will feature Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft, where she will be joined by Richard Armitage and Allen Maldonado in other voice roles.

In true Tomb Raider fashion, the trailer for The Legend of Lara Croft hints at a story centered on the heroine's search for ancient artifacts while uncovering the truth about her past. Part of the appeal of Tomb Raider has always been the sight of her traveling the world and pulling off daring stunts, but it's the human element of Lara Croft that keeps fans invested. So what's going on with Lara this time? How will the Legend of Lara Croft tie into other areas of Tomb Raider lore? Only time will tell.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (season one) will release on October 10, 2024 on Netflix.
