On June 16, Washington mayor Muriel Bowser will be unveiling an official proclamation naming that day as 'Awesome Con Day', in honor of the annual Awesome Con event held there annually for the past decade. This year's Awesome Con will take place that June 16 through June 18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

'Awesome Con Day' won't be just a piece of paper, though. Awesome Con will have official ribbon cutting ceremony on June 16 at 12:30pm on L Street outside of the Hall D entrance. At the event, Awesome Con's founder Ben Penrod as well as Greg Topalian, the CEO of the con's parent company Leftfield Media.

AwesomeCon is happening this year from Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18.
