Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's We3 returns for a big anniversary edition (with a new cover)
We3 is Homeward Bound meets Terminator, in all the right (and wrong ways)
Popverse's top stories of the day
- No, the real problem is that Star Trek isn't woke ENOUGH
- First images show Millie Bobbie Brown's retro hair and Chris Pratt's questionable moustache in Netflix and the Russo Brothers' The Electric State
- Doctor Doom is a high camp hero, and maybe the MCU is ready to finally tell the world
If the scenes of a baby Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hit you in the feels, then you need to read We3. Originally released in 2004, We3 ia s story of three house pets who are kidnapped and experimented on to become living weapons. Wait, this sounds less like Rocket Raccoon and more like Wolverine.
As 2024 is the 20th anniversary of We3, DC is reprinting the entire series (and some extras) in a hardcover tome called, fittingly enough, We3: the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition.
Initially marketed by DC as "the Incredible Journey meets The Terminator," We3 was Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's follow-up to thier momentous revitalization of Marvel Comics' X-Men title with New X-Men, and their first major creator-owned work together.
For this re-release, Quitely is returning to draw a new cover for the book - exclusive for comic book shops only.
We3: The 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition goes on sale September 24, 2024. For a deeper look at what DC has planned for the future, check out our guide to DC Comics July 2024 solicitations.
