At Star Wars Celebration Europe in the London ExCel, writer/director Tony Gilroy announced, or at least vaguely promised, an August 2024 release date for Andor season 2.

In Popverse's liveblog of the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase, Graeme McMillan reported that Gilroy said, "Physically, we started shooting in November. We're about halfway?" Gilroy also shared with the audience that the show's shooting finishes in August, which will be followed by another year of post-production. Gilroy believes that the second season of Andor will debut in August 2024.

About the fact that the series will end with a season 2, Tony Gilroy said, "If you know your ending, it really helps." We know exactly where we're going, and it means we can go full force." Likens the show's production to the prison break in season one. "It was a decision born of survival, but creatively it's been amazing."

More details to come.
