Blue's Clues: The star of the show was always you, according to original host Steve Burns

Over 20 years later, we are still in conversation with Steve, and that's the way he likes it

Growing up watching Blue's Clues on Nick Jr., of course we always sang along when we were getting the mail, or figuring out Blue's Clues. And we especially always had our friend Steve's back when we would help him find pawprints, and help him with the answers to his questions. Although Steve and Blue may have been the stars on our television screens, looking back, we were always right there with them talking things through. We were a part of the discussion, the story, and that's something the former host made sure was the case.

During an appearance at Seattle's Emerald City Comic Comic Con 2023, Steve Burns discussed his very serious approach to the very fun series, and his excitement about continuing the conversation with us, the true stars of the show, over 20 years later.

"The star of Blue's Clues always was, you," Burns explained. "What I tried to do differently, was I would talk to the camera, but I would also listen to it. And what that did was it created this sense that we were actually in conversation. And I just want to say that I think it's so cool that we are still in conversation."
