Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine is returning to adult horror by reviving Stuff of Nightmares at BOOM! Studios

Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine says his Boom Studios series Stuff of Nightmares will return in 2026

If you grew up on R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series, don’t sleep on Stuff of Nightmares. Stine’s Boom Studios comic is a more adult look at horror, inspired by the EC Comics Stine read during his childhood. And the good news is if you like what you read, there is more to come. Stuff of Nightmares will be returning in 2026 for more adult thrills.

According to Stine, his partnership with BOOM! Studios began during a trip to San Diego Comic Con.

“I just met some people at comic con in San Diego and just thought they were really nice,” Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine tells Popverse’s Grant DeArmitt at New York Comic Con 2025. “We’ve been doing comics together. I’ve been doing adult horror, sort of going back to my past. I’m actually going to do a couple more next year, called Stuff of Nightmares. The old-fashioned adult horror.”
