Fans of DC’s Emerald Archer might have been wondering just where Oliver Queen was going to be seen next following the end of his solo series with Green Arrow #31 this month — and it turns out that the answer isn’t what anyone was expecting. Say goodbye to Star City, Ollie… it’s time to move into Batman’s backyard.

Starting with March 2026’s Detective Comics #1107, Green Arrow is “Gotham City’s newest resident,” according to DC Comics — and he’ll immediately be teaming up not only with his main squeeze Black Canary, but also the Dark Knight himself to solve a mystery that ties in with not just his own past, but that of Bruce Wayne, as well. What is going on? Only creators Tom Taylor and Pete Woods know for sure, and it’s going to be a few months before they’re sharing.
It’s unclear right now whether Green Arrow will be joining Detective Comics on a regular basis, but it’s worth noting that this won’t be the first time he’s appeared in the long running flagship series; he had his own back-up strip running in the comic in the early 1980s, starting with 1982’s Detective Comics #521, before graduating back into his own comic in 1987 with the Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters storyline.
DC’s official description of Detective Comics #1107 goes a little something like this: “The Dark Knight Detective is hot on the trail of an abducted teenager with a mysterious past, but he has found himself at a dead end. In a rare moment of desperation, Batman teams up with Black Canary and Gotham City’s newest resident, Green Arrow, to investigate a case with unexpected and terrifying implications for Bruce, Dinah, and Oliver’s shared history. Will this trio be enough to rescue this girl and unravel the mystery of her past? Find out in this thrilling new storyline!”
Green Arrow #31 will be in stores December 24, 2025, bringing his own series to a close. Detective Comics #1107 will be released March 25, 2026.
