The 2022 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards winners

What are the best comics of any given year? That's question many people (including us) grapple with each year, but the closest thing to a consensus of what the best of the best in comics is the winners of the annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards each year. This awards group, given out annually at COmic-Con International: San Diego, attempts to cover it all - from North American comics, manga, collections, and other international material.
This year's Eisner Awards are being announced in a ceremony taking place Friday, July 22 - and Popverse is there covering it livee, and updating the list below as winners are announced. Look for the winners in bold:

Bob Clampett Humaniarian Award
In addition to the Eisner Awards, there are several sister awards given out - including the Bob Clampett Humatarian Award. Given out annually since 1984, this year's winner - Annie Koyama - was announced earlier in the year.
The Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award
The annual award for the best new artistic talent will be given out by previous winner, Jeff Smith. The nominees are Matthew Clarke (co-creator/artist of Hardears), Emma Kubert (co-creator/artist of Inblot), Meredith Laxton (artist of MPLS Sound), Luana Vecchio (artist of Bolero), and Audra Winslow (writer/artist of Jo & Rus).
And the winner is Luana Vecchio, for their work on Bolero.
The nominees for the Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award are chosen each year by SDCC's board and committee members. The winner is decided by vote from previous Manning Award winners, as well as the surviving assistants of the late Russ Manning.
