Take a trip to Killadelphia on this week's Enter the Popverse

Hey, what’s that sound? Everybody look, it’s time for a new Enter the Popverse, the weekly show in which host and video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson takes on what’s happening in popular culture, comic books, movies and television. And this week, the show is taking a trip to Killadelphia.

For those unfamiliar with the Image Comics series of that name — you should fix that, the first issue is available online — it’s a horror series set in Philadelphia that follows a cop as he returns to the city after the death of his father, to find that it’s no longer the place where he grew up… in large part because vampires have moved in. And that’s just the start of the story. I could say more, but I’d rather let writer Rodney Barnes do it; he’s on the show talking to Ashley about the series, its origins, and more.

Meanwhile, Popverse staff writer Graeme McMillan returns to the show to follow-up on last week’s conversation about strikes, talk shows, and the current state of the strikes, asking the important question: is Ashley Victoria Robinson secretly the most powerful person in show business? (Don’t ask, just watch: it’ll make sense in context.)

It’s a pre-recorded episode, as Ms. AVR will be in Las Vegas for the wonder that is MagicCon, but that just means we can guarantee a good time for all when Enter the Popverse Episode 32 debuts at 1PM Eastern, 10AM Pacific on Friday, September 22. You can watch it and comment along on YouTube or bookmark this page and come back to watch it below. Watch early! Watch often!

Also on last week’s show, writer Joshua Williamson spilled some classified beans about Skybound’s upcoming G.I. Joe reboot, with some commentary on all-new preview art from Duke #1!

Graeme McMillan

Graeme McMillan: Popverse Editor Graeme McMillan (he/him) has been writing about comics, culture, and comics culture on the internet for close to two decades at this point, which is terrifying to admit. He completely understands if you have problems understanding his accent.
