The first behind-the-scenes look at Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is here

It's not House of Harkness nor Coven of Chaos anymore.

It's going to be a while before we see the first-ever proper footage, but we've now learned a bit more about behind-the-scenes work on the Agatha: Darkhold Diaries series coming to Disney+ next year.

With WandaVision coming to Blu-ray and 4K through a surprise physical release today, Disney and Marvel Studios have shared a quick behind-the-scenes look at how the upcoming spinoff series Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, which previously used the subtitles House of Harkness and Coven of Chaos, came to be, plus there are like a couple of seconds in there from the actual shooting of the show. You can watch the full clip below:

The video focuses on head writer and exec. producer Jac Schaeffer, who talked to Marvel Studios about developing something else while making WandaVision; everything that she pitched "included a storyline about Agatha," so it appears she was by far her favorite character in Wanda Maximoff's show, which she also spearheaded. Before, she worked on the story for the Black Widow movie and did some uncredited work on Captain Marvel's script.

Agatha Harkness actress Kathryn Hahn also expressed his excitement about the spinoff series after being "flabbergasted by the reception" to both WandaVision and her character's role in the story. "The whole thing made total sense to me," she added. A short description of the first episode of Agatha: Darkhold Diaries has also been made available through the US Copyright Office Public Records System (another unexpected surprise). Here's the full thing:

In the first episode we see Agatha Harkness finally break out of a spell she has been trapped in. She can't wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.

Finally, we could catch a glimpse of production on the show near the end of the clip shared by Disney and Marvel. In it, we can see Heartstopper star Joe Locke (rumored to be playing Billy Maximoff aka Wiccan somehow) alongside Hahn and more of the cast. Here's a screencap:
