Ahead of the launch of new prequel series House of the Dragon at the end of the month, Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Creation Entertainment have announced dates and the location for the first ever Game of Thrones fan convention, to take place this December – and a new guest, as well.

Taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center across the weekend of December 9-11, the event will feature panels, cosplay contests, trivia competitions, as well as cast meet-and-greets and autograph signings. As if that’s not enough, there will also be a show floor featuring exclusive merchandise, and an evening dance party DJ-d by none other than Hodor himself, Kristian Nairn.

In addition to previously announced guests Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne), Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), and the aforementioned Nairn, organizers have added a new name to the line-up with the announcement that Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) will also be appearing. Hosting the event will be Jason Concepcion and Greta Johnsen, hosts for the upcoming Official Game of Thrones Podcast: House of the Dragon.

The December date for the Game of Thrones Official Fan Convention means that it will take place after the conclusion of the first season of House of the Dragon, which debuts August 21 on HBO and HBO Max, and runs for ten episodes. Expect there to be no small amount of discussion about whether or not the prequel lives up to both expectation and the legacy of the original Game of Thrones during the show, as well.

More information about the event can be found at its official website.
