Batman, Superman and the entire DC Universe are in your hands in new game Legendary DC, coming 2026

The DC edition of Upper Deck's deck-building game system will arrive in early 2026, per the company

The Marvel Universe might be moving deeper into the lands of Magic: The Gathering, but DC isn’t being left behind when it comes to card games — Upper Deck has just announced that Legendary, the deck building game first released back in 2012, will be unveiling its own DC Universe edition in 2026.

Legendary DC sees the return of original game creator Devin Low for a 500 card set that pits hope against fear, with heroes including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and more up for grabs in the fight against a mysterious Mastermind controlled by the game itself. (The game mechanic sees all players working to defeat the Mastermind, controlled by the game itself; those who want to play competitively can compare Victory points to see who’s the better player.)

Longtime fans might remember that Legendary initially launched as Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game, with multiple expansions and core sets released in subsequent years, including movie and comic book themed expansions. (2024 saw the release of a 2099 set, and this year had a What If…? Season 2 set.) While there isn’t likely to be an official Marvel vs. DC Legendary set anytime soon — despite the comic book crossovers between the company making their comeback — there’s nothing to say that enterprising gamers couldn’t work out some way to make it happen on their own, given enough prep time.

Details about Legendary DC will be released in coming months; for now, all Upper Deck is saying about its release is that fans should look out for the game in early 2026. Now, how quickly can we get a DC K.O. edition...?
