After swinging around Manhattan with Peter Parker as part of its MTG x Spider-Man set, Magic: The Gathering is looking a little bit… bigger for its next collaboration with Marvel. Announced at MagicCon: Atlanta on September 26 is the summer 2026 set titled, simply, Marvel Super Heroes.
Information on the summer set is purposefully thin on the ground — and in the air — for now. Officially, MTG owners Wizards of the Coast are describing this set as “massive,” and saying that it “draws upon characters from across the Marvel Universe, ranging from famous Super Hero teams to villains bent on world domination.” So… should we expect some Avengers to show up, if we’re talking about “famous Super Hero teams”? Or maybe the Fantastic Four?
And “villains bent on world domination”? That’s got to be Doctor Doom, right…? Especially considering that he’s got his own big screen moment coming later in the year.
Wizards promises to reveal “more about this team-up in the future when it’s time to assemble” — Avengers, I’m telling you. The set will be released in June 2026, as per the announcement. Look forward to a lot more on Popverse about this as release draws closer.
