Mad Max and the power of friendship collide in Dimension 20: Gladlands - and there’s a dream come true for Critical Role GM Brennan Lee Mulligan, too
When GM Brennan Lee Mulligan was asked who he'd like to be in the next season of Dimension 20, he named two Dropout regulars - both of whom appear in the new Gladlands trailer

The trailer for the next season of TTRPG actual play series Dimension 20 is here, and there's plenty to be excited about. For one thing, it appears that GM Brennan Lee Mulligan's current Critical Role Campaign 4 duties hasn't kept him out of The Dome - but perhaps even more exciting for Mulligan is the fact that the new season will feature two Dropout regulars he's been dying to play with. We'll get into who they are, but first - check out the trailer for yourself here:
It appears Gladlands, the 27th official campaign run under the Dimension 20 banner, is set in a Mad Max-inspired post-apocalypse, complete with souped up battlecars and dealing with the politics of scarcity and the power grabs that occur within. But the twist appears to be that our band of heroes are... actually decently heroic for the environment they find themselves in, and that the bleakness of their world will not kill the hope they carry into it.
But hey: let's talk about this cast of heroes really quickly, because we'd be willing to bet that's what GM Mulligan is most excited about.
When we sat down with Mulligan in May of this year, we asked who the Dimension 20 and now Critical Role GM would love to see on the former series. his answer, as you may recall if you read the article, was as follows:
"Oh, God. Everybody. I mean, that's the sad part, right? I want to play with everyone. There are so many talented people. I would say, that, just because we've recently talked about it, Vic Michaelis would be awesome to play with. They are just so beyond talented.
But also, I mean, there's not only other people that I want to play with for the very first time, but they are all the people that I have played with before and just want to play with again and get back to the dome as well. I had such a great time playing with Oscar Montoya, and I would love to DM for him as well. The list is truly endless."
Fast forward to December 17, when the trailer for Gladlands dropped, and who's in the cast but Vic Michaelis and Oscar Montoya. Maybe we shouldn't be that surprised - both comedians are regulars at Dropout, the comedy service which Dimension 20 calls home, and we suspect that breakout star Mulligan gets the casting he wants these days. Still, their inclusion pretty exciting, to say nothing of the rest of the players, all of whom have made their mark on D20 before. Really quickly, those folks are:
- Ally Beardsley
- Jacob Wysocki
- Kimia Behpoornia
- Zac Oyama
Quick note here - this also marks Kimia Behpoornia's first time as a full-time player on Dimension 20, and if we were betting folk, we'd wager she was on Brennan's list as well.
Anyway, It's the kind of crew that Dropout fans dream about just as much (well, maybe) as their humble GM, and the best news of all is that we won't have to wiat very long to see them in the Dome together, taking on the wastelands. Dimension 20: Gladlands debuts on Dropout January 7, 2026.
