Have you ever tried teaching someone Dungeons & Dragons? It's... a lot, especially if they're kids. But if you wanted to introduce the youngins to the Forgotten Realms, there's this new action figure line geared towards familiarizing them with various monsters and creatures of the plane.

A press release from the toy company, Basic Fun!, says, "DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Questers translates the spirit of the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game into a hands-on, collectible toy experience designed specifically for younger fans. Questers meets kids where they are, blending tactile, imaginative play with the collectability and surprise-driven experiences that define today's toy landscape, while giving fan parents a new way to introduce a beloved franchise to the next generation and spark child-parent connection through physical play."

There are "three distinct collectible scales" in the Questers line: creatures, adventurers, and monsters, which have interchangeable parts that "allow kids to mix, match, customize, and create their own heroes and beasts." The figures come with a D20 die, a must for any D&D campaign, and a "storystarter" to get some ideas rolling.

What's interesting about all this is that Wizards of the Coast, the company that owns D&D, is itself owned by Hasbro, the massive toy conglomerate. But, for this action figure line, Wizards has licensed D&D out to Basic Fun!, a separate toy company not owned by Hasbro. This is unusual because in the past, D&D figures and figurines have been manufactured by Hasbro, like this one of Drizzt Do'Urden and Guenhwyvar

Of course, the toy industry has been affected immensely by tariffs, so there's no saying why Wizards decided to work with a different company to manufacture these toys.
