The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has been going strong for more than a decade, but it has never been this big. With a sequel to the 2023 hit film in the works, we also have a new game coming out as well. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic has set its release date for June 2025 and is ready to expand on the shockingly complex lore in the game even further.

Focusing on the lore of a character that was introduced in a series of novellas, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic is canonically the first story in the franchise. Set in 1979, it features a new set of animatronic killers that hunt the player as they complete puzzles and make their way through an abandoned factory. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic will be released on June 13, 2025 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

This isn’t the only big Five Nights at Freddy’s release date to be aware of this year as the sequel to the 2023 horror film is also set to land in cinemas in December 2025. With Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic being the 11th mainline game in the series to be released, it is a big year for fans of jump scares and killer animatronic animals.
