Magic: The Gathering’s Marvel crossover set demonstrates that Doctor Doom WILL toot as he pleases

The iconic "Doctor Doom toots as he pleases!" meme has been transformed into a Magic: The Gathering card in the upcoming Marvel crossover set

Part of the fun that comes with being a comic book fan is the hilarious panels and pages that are absolutely bizarre to look at out of context. Whether it's a Spider-Man villain saying that he doesn't want to cure cancer, he just wants to transform people into dinosaurs, or Moon Knight stalking Dracula, the veracity of these panels almost doesn't matter (to be clear: that Spider-Man dinosaur panel is real). The point is that some fan somewhere stumbled upon an old panel they found funny and shared it with the rest of us.

And now, one of these panels has been transformed into a bonafide Magic: The Gathering card. The Horn of Greed card from the forthcoming Marvel Super Heroes Magic: The Gathering set depicts Doctor Doom using a horn against Namor's wishes. Now, the art for the card depicts the real artwork and original lettering from the panel. But the panel itself gained notoriety when a fan edited the dialogue balloons so that Namor appeared to be saying "Do not TOOT it!" while Doctor Doom responded, "FOOL! Doctor Doom toots as he pleases!" Honestly, I think we all wish that we could toot as we please.

Now, I am left wondering if any Magic: The Gathering players will bring horns of their own to toot when they play Horn of Greed during their matches. I mean, if you want to wage psychological and sonic warfare against your opponent, why not? Please don't actually do this, though. You'll probaby get banned from your LGS.

Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Super Heroes will be out in June 2026.
