It's been revealed that Haruichi Furudate has penned a new one-shot for the Haikyu!! manga ahead of the release of the first movie of the theatrical, two-part Final movie event.
Whether you're an avid consumer of mangas or prefer staying on top of animes (maybe both), Haikyu!! remains one of the best recommendations we have at the moment. Fans are now anticipating this month's first movie in the two-part sequel movie project titled Haikyu!! Final. Via Anime News Network, we've also learned about the one-shot manga that's been released today to celebrate the arrival of the movie.
Shueisha has published the one-shot as part of the magazine's 10th issue that was released today, February 5. It's a 16-page chapter with one full-color page that tells a 'different angle' to the big Karasuno High vs. Nekoma High showdown. While it doesn't mark a huge new chapter for the series, it'll surely be an effective way to promote the upcoming movie Gekijōban Haikyu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen (Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump), which opens in Japan on February 16. You can check out its full poster below:
While there are no definitive details in place for the international distribution plans of the upcoming movie, we've learned via ANN that those who see the sequel in theaters in Japan will receive a "volume 33.5 book" that features a new 16-page manga, brand-new character illustrations, the storyboard for chapter 322, and an interview with manga creator Haruichi Furudate.
