Congratulations, one and all; it’s almost the weekend, and that means it’s time for host and video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson to once again invite you all to Enter the Popverse. And, this week, she’ll be talking to a comic book veteran and icon (not to mention, a Popverse contributor): Joseph P. Illidge.

Rescheduled after sickness derailed a previous conversation, Joe will be talking about his vast experience in the industry — he’s worked for DC, Valiant, Heavy Metal, Simon & Schuster and Lion Forge, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund — and how he views the current state of comics. Anyone who’s checking out his Popverse columns about the industry, consider this recommended viewing… And feel free to leave comments for Ashley while the episode is running, too, to join the conversation yourself.

Of course, that’s not all: Graeme McMillan will be once again signing on for the Uncle Traveling Matt role, calling into the show as his UK trip continues, assuming wifi works from the wilds of Scotland at the time. (“Wilds” is overstating things, but it sounds far more dramatic than the reality of “He’ll be calling in from just outside Glasgow, let’s be honest.)

It’s all going to be happening in Enter the Popverse #37, which will take place on YouTube at the regular time, 1pm EST, 10am PST, this Friday — or, for those who want to stay right here where the action is, bookmark this page and come back at the appointed time to check out the video below.

Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, and it’s Robert Venditti talking about Superman ’78 on last week’s Enter the Popverse! Check out the video for Venditti’s thoughts about a retro Justice League, and more.

Graeme McMillan

Graeme McMillan: Popverse Editor Graeme McMillan (he/him) has been writing about comics, culture, and comics culture on the internet for close to two decades at this point, which is terrifying to admit. He completely understands if you have problems understanding his accent.
