Don't miss New York Comic Con 2024, happening in October 17 through 20. Popverse will be there all four days, immersing ourselves in the pop culture party full of vendors, events, and celebrities from the worlds of comics, movies, TV, gaming, and more. Buy tickets now!

Remember that scene in Across the Spider-Verse, when Spider-Man stops The Spot from robbing that ATM? New Yorkers recognized so many elements from that scene, from the mismatched products on the shelves, to the bodega owner that knows you on sight, to the "this isn't the craziest thing that's happened in here" attitude. Bodegas are, indeed, a staple for the residence of the City that Never Sleeps, which is probably why New York Comic Con has decided to put them at the center of the convention.

If you're in town for NYCC '24 but not necessarily a resident, you might be interested in experiencing this slice of city life beyond the honorable homages within the halls of the Javits Center (maybe even after a meal?). If so, Popverse has your back, with this list of six bodegas a walk away from NYCC. Enjoy.

Walk from Javits Center: 21 minutes

Fun fact: Ok, this place is technically not a bodega, but a bodega-themed restaurant. Still, "bodega-themed" is kind of the NYCC vibe, no?

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg if you've got bodegas on the brain. Sound off in the comments if you've got a different spot you plan on hitting up. Or, if you are a New Yorker, let us know which bodega out-of-towners should visit (locations with the traditional bodega cat preferred, of course). And whatever you do, don't wait to pick up your NYCC tickets.

Bodegas may be open all the time, but those ticket applications won't be.

Get ready - tickets for NYCC 2024 are about to go on sale (and we can get you early access to those, plus all the big autograph and photo op opportunities!).
