Loki season 2 trailer introduces Ke Huy Quan to the MCU

OB is the man with all the answers... except the one needed the most

The first trailer for season two of Disney+’s Loki has dropped, showing Marvel’s God of Mischief and Time Variance Agency agent Mobius back in action — but they’re not alone. Joining them this season is a very familiar face: Ke Huy Quan, joining the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse as an expert in all things time travel… kind of.

Quan’s OB shows up at the beginning of the new trailer, seemingly a TVA archivist who can answer any question about the ways of the multiverse and time travel… except what’s happening to Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. “Wow! Timeslipping!” he says, after watching Loki fold out of existence. “It’s impossible to time slip in the TVA.” “I know, but we just saw it happen,” Owen Wilson’s Mobius responds — and therein lies the story to the second season of the Marvel Studios show, it seems.

It’s the latest piece in a career renaissance for the former Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Goonies star, following appearances in Disney+’s American Born Chinese and the critically acclaimed Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, the latter being the role that won him the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role back in March. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before he’s just taken over Disney+ altogether. (Personally, I wouldn’t complain if that happened.)

Other familiar faces glimpsed in the trailer for the new season include Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna — both seemingly in disguise at points, or else showing up as variants of themselves throughout the multiverse — and Tara Strong’s animated icon Miss Minutes. But perhaps the most exciting teaser might be the appearance of Jonathan Majors as Victor Timely, finally following up on the post-credits scene at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania earlier this year.

Loki season 2 begins October 6. Watch the new trailer below.
