The famous comedy-drama USA Network series Monk is now streaming on Netflix with all its eight seasons.

There's a lot of juicy stuff coming in and out of Netflix this February (via What's on Netflix). Last week, we told you about Brooklyn Nine-Nine joining the licensed offerings available on the platform. Likewise, Dune: Part One is set to have a big month ahead of Part Two's huge release on March 1 and before departing the streamer. Well, it seems like another comedy-drama series (the type of content which performs remarkably well) coming from outside the company could join their list of most-viewed TV shows in the coming months.

Monk, starring Tony Shalhoub, had a fantastic run on the USA Network for eight seasons that ran from 2002 through 2009. Moreover, it received last year a sequel in the form of Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie, currently streaming on Peacock. As companies continue to share hit shows and movies from their vast libraries across streaming services with temporal deals, it makes sense that Netflix would also pick up another binge-friendly show which had an amazing network run, especially if folks are looking to get up to speed before watching the movie on Peacock.

The detective TV series follows Adrian Monk (Shalhoub), a private investigator with a strong obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as multiple phobias, plus his assistants Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram) and Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard). He regularly works with the San Francisco Police Department, solving unconventional cases while continuing to investigate his wife's unsolved murder. While highly comedic, the show also became famous because of how it effectively explored its characters' personal struggles in very believable ways. That's a balance which is often hard to strike, so one can see how Monk became a hit when those elements were mixed with Shalhoub's natural charisma.
