Looking for a Disney animated list for next year that includes Disney movies and streaming shows? We've got you covered

The most magical place on Earth might be one of the beloved Walt Disney theme parks around the world, but there’s an argument to be made that the second most magical place is sitting in a comfortable chair, watching the work of the animators and creators behind some of Disney’s iconic properties. From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs through Inside Out 2, there’s something reliably beautiful about the stories Disney Animation — and, recently, the live-action remakes of Disney’s animated properties — brings to the screen… and that’s just going to continue throughout 2025.
Right now, we know what to expect on the big screen through the end of 2025, and for the first couple of months on the small screen and streaming — so if you want to start planning out your calendar for the next 12 months, here's your Disney movies list (and more) to help you decide what you should be marking down as must-sees:
- February 19: Win or Lose
- March 21: Snow White
- May 23: Lilo & Stitch
- June 13: Elio
- November 26: Zootopia 2
Want more information about each and every one of the above? Glad you asked.
Upcoming Disney Animation TV series: Win or Lose (February 19, 2025)
In the works for close to five years, Win or Lose is an ambitious effort for Pixar Animation Studios: its first full television series, centering around a co-ed middle school softball team preparing for its big championship game. Each episode tells the same story from a different perspective — from the coach to the players, to even the players’ parents, and the umpire of the game — with subtle (and not so subtle) shifts in animation style and storytelling to reflect the different points of view. It’s created, written, and directed by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, both of whom have worked on the Toy Story series in the past.
Debuts: on Disney+
Upcoming Disney movie adaption: Snow White (March 21, 2025)
Sure, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs might have been the first full-length Walt Disney animated feature and an indisputable classic, but does that mean that it wouldn’t benefit from a new take? Enter Marc Webb, director of everything from The Amazing Spider-Man to episodes of My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, who’s directing this live-action remake that stars Rachel Zegler in the title role and none other than Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, as the Evil Queen. What’s that? You want more star power? Okay, fine; the screenplay is co-written by Barbie’s Greta Gerwig. It kind of seems unreal, doesn’t it? Kind of like… a fairytale?
Debuts: Theatrically
Upcoming Disney movie adaption: Lilo & Stitch (May 23, 2025)
It’s safe to say that many people already know about this live-action remake of the fan-favorite 2002 animated classic thanks to the debut of the 'live-action'
Stitch at D23 Expo earlier this year. Maia Kealoha plays Lily, a six-year-old girl who discovers the alien genetic experiment we all come to know and love; she’ll be joined by a cast that includes Zach Galifianakis and Idris Elba, as well as a number of people who were in the original: Tia Carrere and Jason Scott Lee both return in new roles for this version, while Chris Sanders once again provides the voice of Stitch. Originally planned as a Disney+ release, the movie got upgraded to a theatrical release opposite the eighth Mission: Impossible movie, making all of us imagine what a Tom Cruise versus mean blue alien koala clash would look like. (It would look amazing.)
Debuts: Theatrically
Upcoming Disney Animation movie: Elio (June 13, 2025)
Pixar’s second big project of the year is this big screen sci-fi adventure where an 11-year-old kid is kidnapped by aliens who mistakenly believe that he can speak on behalf of all humanity. Does that mean that he’s not going to try anyway? Of course not! The voice cast includes Zoe Saldaña and Jameela Jamil, but the true star power is the directors behind this movie, with a threesome that includes Turning Red’s Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian, as well as Adrian Molina, who had co-written and co-directed Coco. I’m not going to say the results are going to be “out of this world,” but please know that I really, really want to.
Debuts: Theatrically
Upcoming Disney Animation movie: Zootopia 2 (November 26, 2025)
Sure, I could tell you that the second Zootopia sees Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return as Judy Hopes and Nick Wilde, who have to go undercover to track down a mysterious snake voiced by Ke Huy Yuan, but that’s not what you want to know about. I could tell you that the movie is written by Jared Bush, who also co-directs with Byron Howard, meaning it’s the same creative team as the original movie behind the scenes… but that’s still not what you want to know. So, instead: yes, Shakira is indeed coming back as Gazelle, the pop music icon who made that first one such a joy. Happy now?!?
Debuts: Theatrically
