In the final season of Hacks, comedy is dead... or is it? The Emmy Award-winning series, which stars Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, is returning to HBO Max for its climactic season. So, when can you expect the release date for Hacks Season 5 to arrive?

The Hacks Season 5 release date is April 9th, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET on HBO Max. It has been just under a year since the previous season concluded on May 29th, 2025. Hacks Season 5 will consist of ten episodes. While the show will have a weekly release schedule, two new episodes will drop on April 30th, 2026 and May 7th, 2026, with the series finale debuting on May 28th, 2026. And of course, there are plenty of TV and streaming show release dates to keep in mind in the months to come. Here's the official trailer for the fifth and final season of Hacks:

In Hacks Season 5, stand-up comedian Deborah Vance (Smart) is reeling from the realization that the wider world thinks she's been retired. This news comes from an obituary associated with Vance's falsely reported death. With renewed vigor and a goal of restoring her legacy before it's too late, Vance and Ava (Einbinder) return to Las Vegas and set about resurrecting comedy one final time.

The release date for Hacks Season 5 on HBO Max is April 9th, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET.
