For years, everything in the MCU has been building towards fully integrating the X-Men into the shared universe that Marvel Studios have built, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day introducing the first of the next generation of the so-called Children of the Atom even as Avengers: Doomsday prepares to give the X-Men cast of the past their swansong. Now, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are paving the way for the future by finally giving us the MCU X-Men cast announcement we have been waiting for.

The big announcement happened in Anaheim at D23 Expo 2026, where the cast of the upcoming MCU X-Men movie, which has been something Kevin Feige has been eager to bring in for years, was announced. This announcement comes at the same time that the old X-Men cast from the Fox universe, led by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen since 2000's X-Men, prepares for what is likely to be its final outing in Avengers: Doomsday in December 2026.

The new X-Men cast for the MCU is:

• Christopher Abbott as Professor X
• Kit Connor as Cyclops
• Sadie Sink as Jean Grey
• Samara Weaving as Emma Frost
• Inde Navarrette as Rogue
• Maya Bond as Storm
• Adam Driver as Mister Sinister

We expect that there will be more X-Men casting announcements in the future, particularly with key roles still not cast. The X-Men movie will be released May 5, 2028.
