On Saturday at the Netflix panel at Anime Expo, Pluto producer Masao Maruyama took the stage to talk a little bit about his career and about the upcoming adaptation of Naoki Urusawa's famed take on Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy.

At the packed Main Event panel, fans were shown the first official trailer for the upcoming series and also learned the series release date (October). During the panel, Masao Maruyama also confirmed that the eight one-hour episodes of the Netflix anime will adapt the complete story told in Naoki Urusawa's Pluto manga series.

While fans may worry that it seems like that a lot of plot to cram into eight hours of animated storytelling, there is a bright side to all of this-- there are no worries that the show will not be renewed and that we'd never get to see the ending.

Plus, there's something special about watching a season of television that is able to tell the beginning, middle, and end of a story.

You'll be able to watch the entire Pluto anime series in October on Netflix.
