Netflix dropped Umbrella Academy season 4 release date info on the team's shared birthday

Everyone’s favorite dysfunctional superhero team celebrated their shared birthday on October 1 and Netflix used the occasion to reveal The Umbrella Academy season 4 release window. The show, based on the Dark Horse comic book series of the same name, follows an adoptive family of superpowered siblings who share the same birthday and, more importantly, the same overbearing father figure who gave them the endearingly twisted relationship that has kept audiences excited for three seasons already.

To mark the day that The Umbrella Academy collectively burst forth into the world, Netflix posted a video on the website formerly known as Twitter with the cast dancing and spreading black confetti. The post and video both confirmed that The Umbrella Academy season four release date would be sometime in 2024. It looks like we’ll still have to wait to find out if the team can stave off yet another apocalypse of their own unintentional making.

It has been over a year since the show was confirmed to be returning for a fourth – and final – season, so fans were understandably excited for even this broad release window. Considering that Hollywood is still shut down by the SAG-AFTRA strike and the Writer’s strike has only just ended after nearly six months, it isn’t surprising that Netflix wouldn’t have a more specific release date for Umbrella Academy’s fourth season.

Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore have already confirmed to return for the final season of The Umbrella Academy and will be joined by Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross in supporting roles for season 4.
