Fans will be happy (and sad) to hear that Netflix's live action adaption of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's comic The Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a fourth and final season.

The show follows the lives of the Hargreeves children (a.k.a. The Umbrella Academy), each with unique powers and fairly traumatic pasts, as they unravel the mysteries of their lives and face a complicated world filled with bureaucracy and time travel. Umbrella Academy has been notable for its wacky plot, bizarre settings, breakout dance numbers, and unique visual and tonal style.

The series stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Ritu Arya, Justin H. Min, and Colm Feore. The series showrunner is Steve Blackman who says, about the final season, "I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey we began five years ago."

No dates (or even a year) has been announced regarding the release of this final season of this beloved show, but Deadline hints that the season has already been "largely written," so maybe eager fans wont have to wait that long to figure out what happens after that major plot twist at the end of Season 3.
