A Rick and Morty voice actor just teased season 8

This article contains spoilers for Rick and Morty season 7, episode 10

At this year's C2E2 2024, Rick and Morty fans got an insight to the show like no other, as Spencer Grammer, Ian Cardoni, Harry Belden, and Chris Parnell took the Main Stage for the Cast of Rick and Morty panel. And not only did they get to hear what the series is like behind-the-scenes, they also got a (very brief) tease at the upcoming eighth season.

The suprise came during the fan Q&A portion, during which the panel's moderator asked "What do you think Rick would have seen if he actually went into that Fear Hole with Morty?"

Some brief context - the Fear Hole is a plot device from the last episode of the last season of the show, and it's pretty self-explanatory. It's a hole Morty descends into to face his fears - and without spoiling too much of the episode, it's one from which he emerges successfully. Notably, his companion Rick did not go into the hole with Morty...

But apparently, that's going to change.

Ian Cardoni, who provides the voice for Rick, took up the moderator's question, saying "I'm sure whatever it was [in the Fear Hole], it will be confronted in season 8 and beyond. Whatever those fears are. I'm just going to tease that."

As fans who have seen the episode Fear No Mort already know, the Fear Hole is unique in that it's not just a tunnel of terrors, but a visual manifestation of a character's absolute worst fears. So what is the worst fera of Rick Sanchez, a man who has seen (and caused) some of the worst horrors the omniverse can conjure up?

Next season, it seems we'll find out.
