The CW has finally announced when their biggest scripted series are arriving this year, and Superman & Lois' fourth and final season will have to wait a bit longer.
Via Deadline, we learned on February 15 about the network's upcoming scripted slate, which includes spring premiere dates for All American, Walker, and more originals. While All American and Walker would premiere during the spring window, All American: Homecoming is moving into the summer season. As for Superman & Lois season 4, the final chapter of the story won't start airing its episodes this summer, as some fans and sites dared to predict a while back. Instead, it'll arrive during the fall.
According to The CW's president of entertainment Brad Schwartz, the company thinks Superman & Lois' final season "would be “wasted” in the summer, as he believes it will rival the rest of the fall broadcast slate across competing networks." It's certainly a risky bet, as the back half of the year is expected to be loaded not only in the network arena, but also in the streaming one, with massive shows like House of the Dragon and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuting new seasons.
This update regarding Superman & Lois' long-anticipated release window comes alongside a much-needed clarification about the series' cancellation, which apparently came from Warner Bros. Discovery. They don't want to divert attention from the upcoming theatrical reboot Superman: Legacy, which arrives next year.Want to know what's coming up next in pop culture?
