Abbott Elementary season 5 release date: When Quinta Brunson's hit sitcom is back in session on ABC

The fifth season of Abbott Elementary will air on ABC this fall.

School will be back in session soon at Abbott Elementary. Season 5 of the smash hit mockumentary sitcom created by and starring Quinta Brunson will be airing on ABC soon. After a fourth season that included a crossover episode with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, viewers are no doubt looking forward to the fifth season this fall. So when can you expect the Abbott Elementary season 5 release date to arrive?

The Abbott Elementary season 5 release date is Wednesday, October 1 at 8:30 Eastern/Pacific on ABC. The new episodes of the season will continue to air on a weekly basis in that time slot. And if you'd prefer to stream instead, the new episodes will be available on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ the next day. It hasn't been too long since Abbott Elementary season 4 concluded in April 2025. And of course, Abbott Elementary season 5 is just one of the exciting TV releases to anticipate this fall. Currently, a trailer for Abbott Elementary season 5 is not available able.

On Abbott Elementary, Brunson stars as second grade teacher Janine Teagues. Also appearing on the faculty roster are first grade teacher Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James), second grade teacher Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter), sixth grade teacher Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti), kindergarten teacher Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and custodian Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis). For the show's fifth season, the show will be filming at a live event in Philadelphia. However, it remains to be seen just which live event this might be.

Abbott Elementary season 5 debuts on ABC on October 1.
