2024 brought us the final chapter of the My Hero Academia manga and 2025 is set to mark the final season of the incredibly popular Shone anime, but that doesn’t mean we’re there will be no more My Hero Academia in our lives. The series’ long-running spin-off manga, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, is getting its own anime series to air ahead of the final season’s debut.
Jump Fiesta 2025, one of the biggest weekends for manga and anime news in Japan, brought plenty of big announcements. One of them was that the final season of My Hero Academia would air in the Fall 2025 anime season, but we won’t have to wait that long to see more from the manga’s world. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is getting its own anime adaptation that is airing in April 2025, with Bones returning to animate the series.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a prequel manga set five years before the events of the main series, so don’t expect to see much of UA’s Class 1-A in action. Instead, the story focuses on a group of unlicensed heroes who work outside the law to help people using their quirks. The manga ran from 2016 to 2022 and consisted of 127 when it finally finished. It shows a world that is still under the protection of All Might during his prime, which makes it a stark comparison to the main series.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will air in April 2025 ahead of the eighth and final season of My Hero Academia will air in the Fall 2025 anime season.
