Meet Buffy's new protégé, as Hulu's Vampire Slayer reboot names a Star Wars vet as its Chosen One
Star Wars Skeleton Crew's Ryan Kiera Armstrong has been cast as the lead in Hulu's upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot

It's time to go hunting once again with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot in the works at Hulu. The pilot has found its new lead with Ryan Kiera Armstrong, best known for her role as Fern on the Disney+ show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
As per Variety, Armstrong will star as a new slayer who will be joined by the GOAT herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy Summers. Variety notes that plot details are still currently unknown, but stay in the loop with us at Popverse, because we'll get them out as soon as we know.
The show is being executive-produced by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, who is also attached as a director. Given how beautifully she films sweeping landscapes like in The Rider, Nomadland, and of course, Eternals, I can only hope that we'll get to see some gorgeous locations if Hulu orders the series.
Dolly Parton will also executive produce through her production company, Sandollar. This is how I found out that the original Buffy show was produced by Dolly, though she was not credited for her work. Imagine that, maybe the most famous blonde lady besides Barbie and Marilyn Monroe was behind a groundbreaking show that subverted the ways that young blonde women were represented in American television. In case you needed another reason to love Dolly Parton, here you go!
