Chicago PD officially renewed by NBC for season 14: Release date, cast and more

The One Chicago series has been officially renewed for a 14th season, and will return to Wednesdays in fall 2026

The season finale of Chicago PD Season 13 aired on May 13th, 2026 and Chicago One devotees are already asking whether or not the show will be returning for a fourteenth season this fall. Fortunately, that question can be answered in the affirmative! Chicago PD Season 14 has already been announced by NBC and is expected to begin airing in fall 2026.

Chicago PD is the story of the law enforcement officers of the fictional 21st district, including the elite Intelligence Unit, who are led by Sergeant Henry "Hank" Voight (Jason Beghe). Chicago PD is one of the shows in the Chicago franchise, also called "One Chicago," alongside Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. (You can find out more about the One Chicago shows right here.) Voight was originally introduced in Chicago Fire as a crooked cop, but he was later released from prison and reinstated, leading to tensions with other members of the force. The series also stars Patrick John Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek, Marina Squerciati as Detective Kim Burgess and LaRoyce Hawkins as Officer Kevin Atwater.

While no definitive return date has been set for the series as of writing, NBC has confirmed that 'Windy City Wednesdays' will continue, with all One Chicago shows continuing to air in parallel on Wednesdays starting Fall 2026. Traditionally, the One Chicago shows return in either the final week of September or the first week of October each year. Although no specific date has been announced, going on past evidence, Chicago PD Season 14 will return to NBC in late September or early October 2026.
