Critical Role creators were asked to pull back on the phallic imagery for the Mighty Nein Prime Video show
We get it - Prime Video has to go through the MPAA to produce Critical Role's Campaign 2 adaptation, The Mighty Nein. But if you think you're gonna stop Critters from being horny, I have news (and many, many subreddits) for you

Please understand I mean this as a compliment when I say: Critical Role fans are a bunch of pervs. And frankly, the perviest among them may very well be the folks who started the whole shabang - Matt Mercer, Sam Riegel, Liam O'Brien, Marisha Ray, Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, and Travis Willingham. If you want proof, look no further than their production process for the Prime Video adaptation of Campaign 2, The Mighty Nein, which the cast recently revealed included a conversation about how many dicks could be shown in the show.
The cast made this revelation during a recent interview with TV Insider, which ranged from the power of TTRPG storytelling to the amount of dicks the producers of Critcal Role's next adaptation would allow. And let me clarify right now - I'm not saying 'dick,' as in, 'the show's villains are a bunch of dicks' or 'the show's heroes are a bunch of dicks' (also true). I'm talking about literal phalluses here, the same thing the cast's interviewer was talking about when they asked: Did Prime Video have any feedback regarding the amount of penises related to a certain god?
"The preferred terminology is 'dicks,'" Willingham helpfully clarified, inadverdantly inspiring a meeting between myself and the editors reading this piece.
"They said there's actually not enough," Johnson piped up. Then followed a moment of giggling befitting the mental 12-year-olds this entire cast has proven themselves to be.
In case you don't know - the penis god that the cast is referring to (beware mild spoilers here, reader), is probably The Traveler, an entity who is worshipped by Mighty Nein lead and fan-favorite character Jester Lavorre. As a mischievous tribute to her chosen god, Jester is known to leave drawings of dicks in random places - an act of graffiti/worship that has become famous for the tiefling cleric among Critter communities.
"I feel like there were quite a few times," said Jester's voice actor, Laura Bailey, "When we suggested some things with dicks in it, and [Prime] was like, that's maybe too much."
"It’s always a good day," when the text chat lights up and it’s like, 'Hey, here’s concept art for three variations of dicks. It feels like we probably need to crank the veininess down on this one?"
"Make it a little cuter!" Bailey continued.
"A little harder to the left, there," added Taliesin.
Willingham, again, was helpful in explaining the situation. "The first series," he said, "There were more notes. But by the time we got to Mighty Nein, they were like... [resigned censor noises]."
"Can we add a smiley face to this dick?" concluded Bailey.
The Mighty Nein premieres on Prime Video November 19. Expect pixelated graphics.
