To play Bullseye on Daredevil: Born Again, Wilson Bethel calls on his skills as a pro tennis player
Wilson Bethel's tennis skills came in handy when it came to playing Bullseye on Daredevil: Born Again

Who would have thought that a villain whose powers lie in his ability to make any object a deadly weapon when thrown would be best embodied by a tennis player? And yet, before Wilson Bethel became an actor best known for playing Bullseye in Netflix's Daredevil show (and, later, Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+), he was, in fact, a professional tennis player.
At C2E2 2026, we sat down with Bethel to break down his turn from tennis to acting and how his background in tennis helped him play Bullseye in the Daredevil shows.
"A standard throwing motion is very similar to a service motion [in tennis]. There’s a lot of arm movements and the way that your weight transfers. I feel like I use that kind of body mechanics for a lot of [Bullseye's] different throwing styles," Bethel began.
"I think obviously having a background in tennis or whatever sport can translate into stunt work," he continued. "It’s one of those things that I think is super fun with this character, getting to use some of those body awareness skills and sort of sports language with a deadly twist."
When you watch Bullseye fight Daredevil (or anyone else) in Born Again, it's easy to see Bethel's athleticism shine through. Now, we are left to wonder about who would win in a tennis match, Bullseye or Patrick and Art from Challengers?
Daredevil and Daredevil: Born Again are both streaming on Disney+. The full C2E2 2026 interview with Wilson Bethel will be available on Popverse soon.
