Elsbeth season 3 release date: When The Good Wife spinoff will return to CBS

The latest series in The Good Wife franchise is returning to your TV soon.

Carrie Preston originated the character of Elsbeth Tascioni on the 2009 series The Good Wife. And given that she won two Primetime Emmy Awards for her performance on that show, perhaps it is no wonder that the character has persisted. After appearing in the now-concluded spinoff The Good Fight, Preston is heading a second spinoff centered on her character: Elsbeth on CBS. So when can you expect the release date for Elsbeth season 3 to arrive?

The Elsbeth season 3 premiere release date is October 12 at 10:00 PM ET on CBS. After the season premiere, new episodes will air on a weekly basis on Thursdays in the same time slot, beginning on October 16. The show's second season concluded in May 2025, so fans will only have to wait about five months before Elsbeth returns. Elsbeth will be airing after Matlock on CBS. And those are just two of the exciting shows that are coming your way this fall. Currently, a trailer for Elsbeth season 3 is not available.

Elsbeth follows the titular character, an unconventional lawyer who ends up getting involved in detective work by default. The show sees Elsbeth relocating to New York City after a successful career in Chicago. Following in the footsteps of legendary shows like Columbo, Elsbeth lets viewers in on "whodunnit" early in the episode, deriving tension from how Elsbeth will solve the case. The series also features Wendell Pierce as Charles Wallace (C. W.) Wagner and Carra Patterson as NYPD officer Kaya Blanke, who will be a guest star in the show's third season.

Season 3 of Elsbeth will debut on October 12 at 10:00 PM ET on CBS.
