Family Guy Season 25 on Fox: Release date, time slot, and Stewie spinoff

Peter Griffith and family will return in early 2027 as Seth MacFarlane's animated sitcom returns for its 25th season

For a quarter of a century, Family Guy has brought irreverent and hilarious animated comedy to fans. So when the Season 24 finale debuted on May 17th, 2026, audiences immediately asked whether the series would be returning again in the fall. Fortunately Fox has already renewed the Seth MacFarlane created show through Season 30, and you can expect Season 25 to begin midseason, in early 2027.

Family Guy is the story of the Griffin family, who live in the fictional Rhode Island suburb of Quahog. MacFarlane himself voices the incompetent and rude patriarch of the family, Peter, the family's flamboyant genius baby, Stewie, and the alcoholic wanna-be writer family dog, Brian. Rounding out the family is matriarch Lois (Alex Bornstein), eldest son Chris (Seth Green) and the middle-est middle child of all time, Meg (Mila Kunis). The show also features Peter's best friends Glenn Quagmire (MacFarlane), Cleveland Brown (Mike Henry) and Joe Swanson (Patrick Warburton).

In addition to Family Guy Season 25, 2027 will also see the arrival of a spinoff series, Stewie. This series will follow the youngest member of the Griffin family as he transfers to a new preschool. There he'll meet a new cast of characters, including a class pet turtle who is seventy-five years old. Armed with his eclectic array of sci-fi inventions, the series is sure to provide the kind of incredible adventures that would never occur on The Magic School Bus.

Here's a clip from Family Guy in which Stewie and Lois share an edible experience together:

Family Guy Season 25 will begin in early 2027. Historically, the show airs on Fox on Sundays at 9:30 PM ET/PT.
