The Boys finale to debut a day early in movie theaters in surprise announcement

The Boys series finale will have a limited 4DX theatrical release a day before it premieres on Prime Video

Add one more television show that’s upgrading before it comes to its conclusion. Following the example of Netflix’s Stranger Things last year, Prime Video’s The Boys will head to the big screen for one night only in order to screen its big finale… and, perhaps more importantly for fans, that night will be before the finale makes its debut on Prime Video.

‘Blood and Bone,’ the final episode of the acclaimed superhero satire, will play on participating 4DX Regal screens May 19; you can find out where those theaters are right here. The finale will be added to Prime Video the next day, on May 20.

The announcement was made on social media, with a post that read in part, “In two weeks, we’re going out with a bang. Literally, because ya might vibrate watchin’ the series finale in 4DX.” 4DX is, remember, the format that adds additional effects to the viewing experience, including motion seats and environmental effects including smoke machines. (Take that, Infinity Vision.)

The final of The Boys may bring the main series to a close, but it’s not the end of the franchise, even as Gen V was recently cancelled by Prime Video. We have some information about the expanded Vought Cinematic Universe right here.

The Boys Season 5 continues weekly on Prime Video through May 20.

They are brash, unforgiving, and a little rough around the edges... and they're the good guys! The heroes of Prime Video's The Boys, led by Karl Urban's Butcher, go up against the 'superheroes' that is the Seven, led by Anthony Starr's Homelander, leader of the Seven. With that show's five seasons plus spinoffs such as Gen V, Diabolical, and reportedly more, there's a lot to the Boys Franchise, and we're here to help... with:
