The spooky CBS sitcom Ghosts will continue to haunt viewers this fall, when it returns for season 5. Based on the British series of the same name, the American incarnation of the show was developed by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. And Ghosts has proven to be a huge hit for CBS thanks to its ensemble cast of supernatural stars. Naturally, you're eager to know the release date for Ghosts season 5. So when can you expect to see the happy haunts once again?

The Ghosts season 5 release date is October 16 at 8:30 PM ET on CBS. Fresh episodes of the sitcom will continue to air on a weekly basis after that. The show will be part of an hour long CBS comedy programming block, which will kick off at 8:00 PM ET with Young Sheldon sequel Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. Of course, there will be many shows with season or series premieres in the fall. But even so, you will want to make room in your viewing schedule for this spooky sitcom that has everyone talking. While Ghosts season 5 does not yet have a trailer, you can be sure the fifth season will continue the high level of quality that the show has delivered in its first four seasons.

Ghosts follows married couple Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay Arondekar (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who inherit Woodstone Manor from Sam's late great aunt. But matters are complicated due to the fact that Sam was clinically dead for three minutes after an accident, and as a result, she can see now see ghosts... and Woodstone Manor is haunted. The ensemble cast of ghosts includes Thorfinn the Viking (Devan Chandler Long), Sass the Lenape hunter (Román Zaragoza), Captain Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones), lady of the manor Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), Prohibition-era lounge singer Alberta Haynes (Danielle Pinnock), hippie Flower Montero (Sheila Carrasco), scout leader Pete Martino (Richie Moriarty) and stockbroker Trevor Lefkowitz (Asher Grodman).

Season 5 of Ghosts will debut October 16 at 8:30 PM ET on CBS.
