We made it - Grey’s Anatomy season 20 is over, and we'd say more but spoilers. This recently-concluded season was the series' shortest in its 20-seaon history, due to the writers' and actors' strike - but they've already plotted a return. ABC has announced that they’ve picked it up for a 21st season to run in 2024-2025 even though they've cancelled the show's spinoff, Station 19.
While the Grey's Anatomy season 21 premiere release date has not been announced, historically we can expect it to come in late September 2024.
Grey's Anatomy season 21 will be the second season with Meg Marinis as the showrunner, who took over from Krista Vernoff after season 19. It will also mark the third season with star Ellen Pompeo taking a more scaled-back role in the series – she only appeared in four episodes of season 20 despite remaining a series regular and providing voiceovers for each episode.
