The Hazbin Hotel cast all love Brandon Rogers... well, except for Alex Brightman, obviously

We're pretty sure that Hazbin Hotel cast member Brightman, who also appears in Helluva Boss alongside Rogers, actually adores his costar. Just try getting him to admit that on camera

Attend any Hazbin Hotel panel at whichever comic con you choose and you'll find that there's so much love between the voice cast. But hey, where's the fun in talking about that? We'd much rather hear about the gripes between them (made up as they might be), and at New York Comic Con 2025, Alex Brightman (who you may know as Sir Pentious) was happy to oblige.

Popverse sat down with the cast of the Hellaverse ahead of Hazbin Hotel's season 2 debut to talk about the relationships both onscreen and off in the series. You'll recall we did some reporting about the friendships between the Helluva Boss and Hazbin cast back during San Diego Comic Con 2025, and so we thought we'd ask about any other cross-series companionships.

"I get the Supreme luxury of being in both," said Brightman, and it's true. Broadway's original Beetlejuice is both Sir Pentious in Hazbin Hotel and Fizzarolli in Hellluva Boss, plus a couple other characters. Of his fellow Hellions, Brightman says -  "I love everybody, but I don't love Brandon [Rogers]. I get along with everybody, but Brandon, I just can't wrap my head around."

OK Alex, we know that's not true. We were there at ECCC '25 to see just how chummy the pair of you were. But hey, it's a good bit to pretend there's rivalries going on behind the scenes, and Brightman stuck with it.

"I feel like all of you would understand," Brightman said into the room's camera. Then, to his assembled castmates in the interview, "And I feel like you all agree, but you're just not saying anything."

As a matter of fact, they were all saying things about Rogers, who plays titular boss Blitzo in Helluva Boss, but all of those things were positive.

"The funny thing about Brandon," said Kimiko Glenn, voice of Niffty, "is that when you one-on-one with him, he's so calm and so present."

"And he smells so good," added Krystina Alabado, AKA Cherri Bomb. Now it was someone else's turn to look into the camera.

"Next time you see Brandon," said Amir Talai, AKA Alastor, "sniff him."

At which point, the rest of the assembled crew broke into laughter. Well, everybody except Brightman, of course, who wasn't going to let a good joke die.

"I don’t get it," he concluded.

Hazbin Hotel season 2 is on Prime Video now.
