HBO Max's The Pitt has one of the most accurate hospital sets in modern TV says Katherin LaNesa (and she would know)

The Pitt’s Katherine LaNesa says the medical drama’s hospital set is so real, it gives her flashbacks

Katherine LaNasa has spent a lot of time around hospitals, both real and fake.  The actress’s father James J. LaNasa, Jr. was a surgeon, so she grew up around medical facilities. She’s also guest-starred on a few medical dramas, including ER, Grey’s Anatomy, and House.

So yeah, LaNasa is pretty familiar with hospitals. That’s why it’s a big deal when she says The Pitt has the most realistic hospital set she’s ever seen. LaNasa is currently starring on the HBO Max medical drama, and she says the hospital set is so real, it gives her flashbacks to times when she’s visited real ones.

“The set is incredibly real,” LaNasa says during an ATX TV Festival interview. “You walk onto the set, and it’s just a fully built-out emergency department. I mean, it’s just fully built out. If you’ve spent any time in the hospital, it’s a little triggering. You’re like, ‘Oh, okay.’ It literally took me a minute to go, ‘This is okay.’”

“It had a little subconscious effect on me. I thought, okay, it’s going to be alright, and I was really glad it didn’t last. But yeah, it’s like you got the fluorescent lights. I thought, is this going to feel terrible to go in here every day? It’s very dry. But it was so fun to make.”

The Pitt is currently streaming on HBO Max.
