Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss could be eyeing an Earth-based spinoff — here’s what Brandon Rogers thinks it could be about
Vivienne Medrano has gone on record hinting at WHERE third Hellaverse series could be set. And now Brandon Rogers, star and cowriter of Helluva Boss, is talking about WHO he could see it being about

First, Hazbin Hotel introduced the world to the damned souls (and the caring princess) confined to Hell. Then, Helluva Boss expanded the Hellscape by introducing us to the creatures born there. So naturally, just about every Hellaverse fan is absolutely fascinated by the idea of a third Hellaverse series - and the same goes for the folks actually working in the franchise. Or at the very least, Brandon Rogers has some ideas about it, and he was willing to share them with Popverse.
But first, a little bit of context - as you might recall Popverse reporting on earlier this year, Hellaverse creator Vivienne Medrano (AKA VivziePop) told us at San Diego Comic Con that if there were to be a third Hellaverse show, she could see it being set on Earth.
"To me," said the creator, "The most natural part of this universe that we haven't filly explored is the Earth side. Dealing with things like the Inner Demons or possession or things that affect humanity. I feel like that's the side of the universe that we haven't explored, and I would love to tell a story there."
And I think we can speak for you, loyal reader, when we say that we would love to hear it. Anyway, fast-forward a couple of months, to when Popverse was sitting down with Brandon Rogers for a chat about all things Hellaverse. As not only the voice of the titular Helluva Boss, but also the cowriter on the series and the voce behind Hazbin Hotel's Katie Killjoy, we figured few people would know better about what an Earth-based Hellaverse would look like than Rogers. So naturally, we asked him about it.
"It's interesting that you say that," Rogers began, "Because I really can't tell at this point what is a speculative fan theory [about the Hellaverse] and what Viv has actually told me. She’s talked about a couple other Hellaverse sort of spinoff shows, but they're kind of starting to conflate with fan theories [in my head]. So I don't want to confirm or deny."
Oh, yeah, we should really make it extra clear here - what Brandon's talking about here is very much NOT a confirmation about a third Hellaverse series. For one thing, a Hellaverse series hasn't even been confirmed by anyone working on Helluva or Hazbin, to say nothing of a confirmation regarding its potential plotline.
"But what do I think a show on Earth would look like?" Rogers continued. "I think that the D.H.O.R.K.S. - which we introduce in Helluva Boss; they're, like, the government officials of Earth that are kind of like the X-Files people that go and investigate paranormal phenomena - I feel like there's a series there that they could inhabit."
Now that is a fascinating idea. In case you don't know, the D.H.O.R.K.S. were a human organization introduced in the Helluva Boss episode Truth Seekers, the sixth of its first season. There's so much unknown about the org (including what their acronym officially stands for), but their overall gist is exactly as Rogers tells it - the Hellaverse's own X-Files-type group.
(A quick aside here, we can't help but be reminded of one of Vivienne Medrano's favorite shows here, Invader Zim, which both played a huge part in inspiring the Hellaverse and also had some "government body investigates the paranormal" adventures going on.)
Rogers backs up the idea of focusing on the D.H.O.R.K.S. by explaining that, "if it's a Hellaverse series taking place on Earth, there has to be something that makes it Hell."
Although, as the YouTube comedian ponders, "Or maybe it's all human bullshit. There's enough hellacious bullshit on the surface of this planet to fill several shows with."
"But honestly, I don't know," concluded Rogers. "I just hope it has the same heart that Hazbin and Helluva have. Viv has never once told me, 'I hope this gets a lot of views.' She only ever cares about the story, the characters, the music. She just wants a really good product, so whatever it is, if Viv is showrunning it, it's in good hands."
Of that one thing, Brandon, we are absolutely certain. Doesn't mean we'll stop speculating about what we don't know, though.
